“I met with Frank Lin and his son Daniel last month for an inspection.

It was a last minute call on a Thursday night. They were able to meet quickly and provided a competitive price. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the home a few minutes early and saw both were already there. They certainly valued my time. Throughout the inspection, no stone was left unturned.

Their level of experience and knowledge of homes well surpassed my expectations. Daniel took many pictures along the way, which were included in the report. Frank pointed out a some things that were wrong with the house and offered guidance on how to fix them. Both answered all of my questions and worked very well as a team.

We met for just under 2 hours, and I had the report with photos later that day!

I highly recommend Frank Lin Home Inspections. Father and son are friendly, experienced, knowledgeable, prompt, and very thorough.”

“At first I was suspicious about Mr. Lin’s credential just because the realtor recommended him — I thought he might well be the broker’s cheerleader. So I googled him. It turns out that Mr. Lin is a professional engineer (P.E.) — but the agent did NOT mention that.

Every state regulates the practice of engineering to ensure public safety by granting only Professional Engineers (PEs) the authority to sign and seal engineering plans and offer their services to the public. Only PEs can be in responsible charge of a firm in private practice or serve as a fully qualified expert witness.

Among the 106 home inspectors who cover the Somerset County and registered with the New Jersey Association of Licensed Professional Home Inspectors, only 5 have the P.E. title.

After the google browsing, I called Mr. Lin and scheduled the home inspection. All I want to say is that the service worths every penny. One example: I did some online research regarding home inspection, many articles say that it’s hard to get today’s home inspectors into the attic for more detailed check — but Mr. Lin climbed up there without being asked and found two major vent pipe issues: the bathroom exhaust fan vent pipe and the laundry dryer vent pipe.

Long story short: I asked Mr. Lin to help me with the final walk through before the closing, although the realtor said I was wasting my money because she believe I can do it myself.”

“I used http://www.franklininspection.com. Thorough, made notes of everything no matter how small. It’s new construction, the builder told me that my inspector came up with suggestions and concerns that no other inspectors for the other units had, which I guess is a good thing.”

“Frank arrived a little early for the appointment and was extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional.  His work start from an external inspection of the house, looking at the roofing and the condition of the chimney.  He then evaluated the house from top to  bottom, taking time to explain any and all issues found.  Frank worked with his son Dan and not provided information on what was observed, but recorded issues via photographs. He inspected not only the house, but also the retaining walls, and detached garage.

Accompaning Franks on the inspection was very informative, and helpful.  Through the inspection of this 1920’s era house Frank made several significant findings, (Cracked Chiminey allowing water to damage furnace and hot water heater, lead water pipe at entry, retaining wall learning due to neighboring trees, past termite treatment, etc. etc.
Although we are not pursueing this house further, we certainly will use Frank’s service on any houses we buy in the area.”

“Frank performed the structural, wood-destroying insects, and radon inspections. This took approximately 2.5 hours for a 4 bedroom, 2-story home with full basement. Frank was hard to find, but easy to contact, and he promptly returned my phone calls. We scheduled the inspection to begin at 4:00 p.m. on a Friday, and he showed up on time, beginning inspection with the exterior of the home. Although he didn’t find me to accompany him on the inspection, I joined him, and he was happy to point out items as he went. He also answered all of my questions along the way.

Frank did a thorough job. He uses the latest technology for the radon test (electronic, no-tamper 48-hour monitor) and made a number of good suggestions to me during the inspection. He uses a checklist style report, including a written summary highlighting areas of concern or importance. He is friendly and charges a reasonable price, considering the huge range of prices home inspectors in the area charge. I would definitely recommend him.”

  1. My husband and I were extremely pleased with our home inspection done by Frank Lin. He was extremely professional and friendly. He arrived on time, answered all my questions, and was very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the inspection (which he had ready the next day for us) turned up issues and we no longer were interested in the home. I will definitely be calling Frank Lin to look at the next property we find! I highly recommend him!

  2. I highly recommend Daniel for home inspection. He was able inspect 3-unit multi-family house in West New York quickly and thoroughly while answering all my question I had. After inspection, he promptly answered all my concerns and provided a referral for a different service I’ve asked for. His inspection report covered all the items he went over during his inspection plus some. For our future inspections, we are planning to use Daniel for his service.
